Ordering Airsoft Gear from Taiwan in 2026 — What Action Airsoft Told Me About US Imports

I unbox a lot of orders on this channel. This one was different — not because of what was in the box, but because of what wasn't. Action Airsoft, a Taiwan-based retailer I've used for years, gave me a direct look at what's happening with airsoft imports to the US right now. It's not pretty, and if you're ordering from overseas, you need to hear this.

The Import Situation — Straight from the Retailer

Action Airsoft (also known as Proact Store) is based in Taiwan, and they're one of the closest retailers to VFC's manufacturing. If you need VFC spare parts, upgrade parts, or magazines, they're often the ones who have them in stock or can source them.

But here's what they told me when I placed this order: US and Canadian customs enforcement has shifted. They're no longer accepting removable orange tips on imported airsoft replicas. The new standard is a non-removable orange tip — which is why Action Airsoft is now painting the muzzle ends of replicas orange before shipping. For a pistol with a compensator on the end, that's a significant cosmetic hit.

They also said that a large portion of their US-bound orders are being returned. Not delayed, not held — returned. That's a direct hit to their business, and it means anyone ordering from Taiwan (or similar regions) needs to factor in the real possibility that their package gets sent back.

The workaround they mentioned: ordering through UPS, specifically the way Red Wolf Airsoft ships via their Sure Ship program. Action Airsoft is looking into similar shipping methods, but as of this order, they don't have a comparable solution in place.

I also got hit with an $80 tariff on this order that wasn't pre-calculated at checkout. My previous Red Wolf orders didn't have that surcharge. That's something to budget for if you're ordering from Action Airsoft to the US.

What Was in the Box

Despite cancelling the Parabellum pistol (more on that below), the order still had plenty for upcoming builds.

VFC HK33 Magazines — Two More for the Collection

I already had six magazines for the VFC HK33, but with gas blowback rifles, six is the minimum and eight is the comfort zone. These are the standard VFC HK33 mags — lightweight, well-built, and currently impossible to order from US-based retailers. If you're running an HK33 or HK53, Action Airsoft is one of the few places that consistently has these in stock.

TFG3 Black Folding Bipod for HK33/G3

This is a full-metal folding bipod designed to mount on the HK33 or G3 handguard collar. Push a button, fold it flat against the handguard. It feels solid — not flimsy, not rattly. At roughly $80, it's not cheap, but it's a purpose-built piece that keeps the HK33's profile clean when you're not using it.

I'll be installing this on the HK33 in an upcoming build video. The plan is to keep the HK33 as authentic-looking as possible — not over-accessorized, just functional.

VFC Evo Series Hop-Up Key

Small part, big deal. The VFC Evo hop-up adjustment key is the proper tool for setting hop-up on VFC GBBRs. Lose it and you're looking at $20 for a replacement and a frustrating session trying to adjust hop-up without it. I'm adding a spare because I've already lost one.

Claw Mount for MP5/G3/HK33/HK53

This is a longer claw mount that fits the MP5, G3, HK33, and HK53. I already have a shorter one from a Red Wolf order, but I wanted this longer variant specifically for my MP5 A5 build. Claw mounts are the classic optic-mounting solution for H&K-pattern platforms — they lock onto the receiver and give you a solid rail without permanently modifying anything.

Crusader VF 210025 — MP5 M21 Direct Mount Kit

This is the piece I'm most curious about. The Crusader MP5 M21 Direct Mount Kit replaces the front sight tube on an MP5 or HK33 with a shroud that holds a standard flashlight. No Picatinny rail, no side panels — just a clean, retro-looking flashlight mount that keeps the platform's lines intact.

If you're trying to keep an MP5 or HK33 looking period-correct rather than slapping modern rails everywhere, this is the kind of accessory that makes that possible. I'll be testing it in an upcoming video.

AK Folding Stock (and More)

The order also included an AK folding stock and a couple other items I'll cover in separate build videos. The unboxing video goes through everything in detail.

What Didn't Make It — The Parabellum Pistol

I originally tried to order a Parabellum X-Comp 365 pistol in this shipment. Action Airsoft flagged it immediately — because it's a pistol, the non-removable orange tip requirement would mean painting the compensator, which would look terrible. I cancelled it from the order.

Here's what I didn't know until after: Parabellum is apparently a VFC sub-brand. That's useful information for anyone tracking who actually manufactures what in the airsoft market, but it also means that particular pistol falls under the same import restrictions as any other VFC product.

The Bottom Line for US Buyers

If you're ordering airsoft gear from Taiwan in 2026:

  1. Expect orange tip requirements that go beyond the old removable-tip standard. Action Airsoft is painting muzzles. Other retailers may follow.
  2. Budget for tariffs. My $80 surcharge wasn't shown at checkout. It came from UPS after the fact.
  3. Consider UPS shipping. Red Wolf's Sure Ship program via UPS appears to have a smoother path through US customs. Action Airsoft is exploring similar options.
  4. Stick to parts and accessories when possible. Magazines, mounts, bipods, and tools don't face the same restrictions as complete replicas.
  5. The situation may get worse. Action Airsoft told me they expect further changes by end of July 2026. Stay informed before placing large orders.

This isn't a knock on Action Airsoft — they were transparent about the situation and responsive when I had questions. It's a reflection of where US import enforcement is right now, and it affects every overseas retailer shipping to American buyers.
